Mauritius has opened it's romantic and family friendly turquoise waters and is welcoming visitors once again for longer stays.  A 14-day quarantine in a state-designated facility is mandatory at present.

Mauritius, simply an unforgettable island achieved #safedestination status, and is one of the more stable and successful economies in Africa.  It's population of 1.3m approx are multi-lingual in English and French, as well as the native language, Mauritian Gede.

Close to the Tropic of Capricorn the tropical climate is year long with Summer from November to April (rainy season), and Winter from May to October.  Daily temperatures average around 29C.  The Island is ringed by 150km of sandy beaches, the World's third largest reef, national parks, world class golf, and water sports.

SSR International Airport is located on the south of the island which is also the 'wilder' side.  Transfer to your accommodation takes approximately 1 hour regardless of what coast you stay on.  This is a bonus if you wish to explore, rent scooters, cars and bikes which are readily available.  Visas are not required for citizens of the US, EU, Canada or Japan.  However visitors from other countries can obtain tourist visas on arrival which are valid for up to 60 days.  Check up to date details here Mauritian Tourist Board
